How it works

From an address to an engineered HVAC design and a signed proposal, in one visit

Scan, design, compare, price, sign and pay, in one app, at the kitchen table. Your salesperson gathers. Tradewright engineers. You decide how to sell.

The flow

Six steps from the driveway to a signed job

Each step feeds the next, so nothing is re-entered and every number traces back to an input you can see.

  1. Step 1: Scan

Your salesperson scans the home with LiDAR on an iPhone Pro or iPad Pro, or uploads a floor plan, then photographs the nameplate on the existing equipment.

  2. Step 2: Design

Tradewright runs a room-by-room Manual J from the corrected geometry, with every input visible and editable.

  3. Step 3: Compare

Real equipment is selected against the load with Manual S limits, and whole systems are compared on estimated 15-year cost of ownership.

  4. Step 4: Price

Each option is priced from your own price book and margin rules, then laid out as a branded Good/Better/Best proposal.

  5. Step 5: Sign

The homeowner reviews the options at the table and signs the one they choose on the tablet.

  6. Step 6: Pay

Collect the deposit and offer financing in the same visit, through our payments and financing partners.

Each step in detail

What happens at every step

1. Scan

Home scanning with LiDAR or a floor plan

Capture rooms, windows and ceiling heights in minutes. Correct anything the scan got wrong before it feeds the load calculation. A nameplate photo tells Tradewright what is in the basement today.

2. Design

Room-by-room Manual J load calculation

Heating and cooling loads for every room, built on ACCA Manual J methods. The report shows the assumptions behind each number, so a reviewer can check the work.

3. Select

Manual S equipment selection from real equipment

Tradewright matches actual equipment to the load at your design temperature, including cold-climate heat pump capacity, boilers, furnaces and mini-splits.

4. Compare

Whole-system comparison on 15-year cost

Heat pump, boiler, furnace, mini-split and dual-fuel options side by side, with install cost, estimated energy cost and maintenance over 15 years. Options that do not fit are shown as ruled out, with the reason.

5. Price

Good/Better/Best proposals from your price book

Your equipment, labor and add-on prices, your margins and your brand. Tradewright assembles the proposal; you decide what goes in it and how it is priced.

6. Sign and pay

E-signature, deposit and financing at the table

The homeowner signs the option they chose, pays the deposit and can apply for financing before you leave. No second visit to close the job.

Two views

Built for the homeowner and for your team

The homeowner sees a clear decision. Your team sees the engineering and the margins behind it.

What the homeowner sees

  • Three clear options: Good, Better and Best
  • Estimated 15-year cost for each system, with the assumptions written out
  • Why some systems were ruled out for their house
  • The prices you choose to show, with your branding
  • A simple way to sign, pay the deposit and apply for financing

What your team sees

  • Room-by-room Manual J inputs and results, all editable
  • Manual S equipment matches and the limits they were checked against
  • Your cost, margin and price book data, which never reaches the homeowner
  • Rebate documentation for NYS Clean Heat and Mass Save, generated from the design
  • Signed proposals with the exact scope and equipment the homeowner chose

Questions

How long does a full visit take with Tradewright?

It depends on the house and the conversation. The scan, design and proposal happen during the visit, so you leave with a signed proposal or a clear next step instead of promising a quote later.

Does my salesperson need HVAC design training?

No. Your salesperson gathers the information: the scan, the plan and the nameplate photo. Tradewright does the engineering, and every number can be reviewed by your designer or technical lead.

Is Tradewright ACCA-approved?

Not yet. Tradewright is not on ACCA's list of approved Manual J software. Our load calculations follow the ACCA Manual J (8th edition) and Manual S methods, every input is visible, and reports show the assumptions behind each number. We plan to apply for ACCA approval in 2028 and will update this answer when that status changes.

Does the AI make up any numbers?

No. The engineering is deterministic and auditable: loads, equipment selection and cost comparisons come from defined methods and your inputs. The AI explains the numbers in plain language; it never invents one.

What kinds of homes and systems does it handle?

Ducted and ductless homes, plus boilers, radiators and oil homes. Tradewright compares heat pumps, boilers, furnaces, mini-splits and dual-fuel systems.

Which CRMs does it work with?

Works with Housecall Pro, Jobber, ServiceTitan, FieldEdge, or no CRM at all.
